Clocks are very useful to make us stay cognizant of the time of the day. Almost all clocks come with an alarm feature that ensures that you are notified of any pending work that needs doing when the clock starts to ring. With digitization, physical clocks and physical alarm clocks are outdated now. Most people depend on mobile phone clock apps to know time and to create alarms and reminders for themselves. All Android phones come with a manufacturer installed clock app that offers the basic functionality you need. Google also offers its own app called 'Clock' that offers a variety of features and provides the option of synchronizing it with other Google services. The Google Clock app has a very easy on the eye theme that looks sleek and stylish. The app has four main features namely 'Alarm', 'Clock', 'Timer' and 'Stopwatch'. The app divides these four features into four main tabs for easier navigation. There is also a separate Settings section where applicable settings for the app and for every feature can be changed as well.

The Alarm section is the most useful section as it allows you to setup multiple alarms for multiple days with ease. When you setup an alarm, you can choose alarm time, label, ringtone, vibration and repeat days. This ensures that you can give the alarm a proper name, decide the ringtone that would be best suited for you to acknowledge it, decide whether the mobile should vibrate as well or not and see if the alarm needs to be repeated on a certain few days of the week or not. You can also setup a Google Assistant routine with the alarm that would adjust volume, lights, thermostat etc. on dismissing the alarm and would tell you about weather, reminders, calendar and traffic conditions etc. This means that when you dismiss the alarm, the Google Assistant would start a certain set of actions to make your life easier.

The Clock section is best used if you want to know the time in different cities of the world. For instance, if you work for a multinational company and need to make calls and co-ordinate with teams in different regions, you can setup the Clock to display you the time of those regions too so that you can be cognizant of the time in their regions and can setup meeting timings accordingly.

The Timer section is different from Alarm as it allows you to run a countdown that would initiate an alarm when the countdown finishes. This is helpful if you are timing yourself for an exam or need a reminder after exactly five minutes etc. The stopwatch is more useful if you want to time yourself up to any number. This is helpful if you want to time how much time you take to run a 100 meters or if you want to know the time, it takes to complete your exercise routine etc.

The clock app's settings are greatly customizable as well. You can change the clock display from Digital to Analog, see time in minutes or seconds and setup your home time zone. You can also define the time after which any alarm would be silenced, the time for which an alarm can be snoozed and the volume level of the alarm. You can also change the timer sound and add mobile vibration when the timer time expires to make the timer reminder more clear and obvious.
